Materials Budget and Where the Money Comes From
All books, videos, and library supplies are purchased with money raised by the library in donations, the FOL (Friends of the Library) from memberships and fundraisers, or paid for in trade at Bookmans, a local used bookstore. The recent Library Technology and Facility Upgrade completed in August 2015 was paid for by the FOL, and a generous donation from the ILR (Institute for Learning in Retirement). This year (2015/2016) our annual materials budget is $15,000, with the FOL contributing $6000. We are ever appreciative of the generosity of the SCOV community in keeping this Library operating.
The SCOV Association provides the space, utilities, carpeting, computer support, and the librarian’s salary. No SCOV Association funds are ever used to pay for library books, videos, or supplies.
